JAMMU, JANUARY 01 (KNO) : One of the leading Government schools of Jammu city, the Government Girls High School Gandhi Nagar today celebrated its annual Day coinciding with the first day of New Year. Minister for Education, Altaf Bukhari, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and Minister of state for Education and Culture, Priya Sethi joined the Jubilant students in the celebration at the prestigious Teachers Bhawan at the school premises. A scintillating cultural show by the students featuring classical, folk music and dance, skits on teacher student relationship and social issues presented by the students left the jam-packed audience spell bound. The GGHS Gandhi Nagar with its massive building infrastructure, sprawling lawns and excellent academic and co-curricular record has the distinction of being one of the leading institutes of learning and educational excellence in the government sector. The school has added another feather in its cap by running a well-equipped nursery wing with highly trained team of teachers imparting the latest pre-school and nursery education to the tiny tots mostly belonging to children of economical poor families. The Minister for Education, the Speaker, and Minister of state for Education applauded the performance of the students and congratulated them for studying in the best school with a highly qualified team of teachers for educating them. The Function was also attended by Member Legislative Council, Vikram Randhawa the Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmed Shah, Director School Education, Jammu, Ravinder Singh, Director RMSA Tuffail Mattoo and Director SSA, A R Waar.(KNO)
